Fashion Drawing

I am not experienced with fashion drawing, so this task was new to me.

I tried multiple mediums, sketching garments that were in front of me, trying to imitate silhouettes, pattern, shape and details. I definitely wasn't very good but I improved as I found a more comfortable style to work in.

I started with pencil, creating fine lines and adding detail as I went along, zooming in and focusing on one corner of the garment, this was okay to start with but as the time limitations got tighter I struggled to keep up. I changed to a larger nip highlighter and focused more on fluid shapes and silhouettes. This was definitely easier and I preferred the fluidity of the shapes a lot more to small line of the pencil.

I changed the garment around and tried drawing from a different perspective and again found bigger pens easier. When it came to detail the large pen didn't work to well so I swapped to a pen. The pen was risky as any mistakes you cant fix, but I found that I enjoyed that and the mistakes I made formed new shapes and new ideas.

I definitely found my preferred style from the exercise and will improve it in practise.
